Hello internet fam!!! As you all know from the previous post that in India, we just finished celebrating Diwali! And since Diwali involves a lot of bursting crackers and eating junk food, it can take a toll on your skin.Well I might just have a solution for that (yay?).We all have our trusty scrubs to do the job of taking out all the impurities and dead skin, but at times like these, you might just need something a little more effective, yet organic than your everyday scrub.I’ve made this pack on several occassions for myself and not just for the post diwali days but also for those other days when my skin could use some real good TLC.This face pack recipe was passed on to me by my mother and I really wanted to share it with you guys!
Note: All the products used here are organic and you can find them in almost all households!
As shown in the image above the products are:
1.2 tablespoon milk
2.1 tablespoon split red lentils(masoor daal)
3.1\2 a lemon squeezed
Soak the lentils in some water for an hour and rinse.Add the milk, lentils and lemon juice in the mixer and blend till a fine paste is achieved(remember it has to be smooth and not coarse, since the paste itself will have scrub like particles from the lentils). The lentils used here are unpolished.Add few drops of water if you feel that the paste is a little hard to smooth over on the skin.
Apply the paste all over the face and neck(can also be used on the body).Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.Gently massage your face in a circular motion for a minute(add few drops of water if you feel it’s too dry on the face) and rinse it off with lukewarm water. You’ll instantly notice that your skin feels silky smooth and a lot more clear! finish it off with your favourite toner and moisturiser.
The paste needs to be a lot more smooth than shown in the above image. Please do a patch test on your arm first, before applying on the face.
This is something that has definitely worked for me and all these are experience based opinions and not professional .
Until next time
XOXO Dimpy 🙂
